Yegen Golf  Club

Andrew Cortez is a Class A member of the PGA. Andrew grew up in Murrieta, California, where he learned to play golf at the Murrieta Valley Golf Range. Andrew played collegiate golf at the University of California, Riverside. Throughout high school and college, Andrew worked at Bear Creek Golf Club, a Jack Nicklaus design. At Bear Creek, Andrew started as an outside service attendant and worked his way to the first assistant position, and eventually the Director of Instruction.   Andrew participated as a member of the Board of Directors of the Southern California PGA section, and was recognized by the section as the 2010 ‘apprentice of the year’ and by his chapter with the 2014 ‘junior golf leader’ award.  After Bear Creek, Andrew served as the Director of Instruction at the PGA Learning Centers at Whittier Narrows in the greater Los Angeles area.  Andrew then moved to Oregon, where he served as a resort caddie at Bandon Dunes Golf Resort for two seasons.  Andrew met his wife, Ashley, at Bandon Dunes, and eventually moved to Montana.  Over the past several years, Andrew was a seasonal assistant professional at Peter Yegen, the Yellowstone Club, in Big Sky, Montana, and at Laurel Golf Club. Andrew enjoys building relationships and helping golfers of all abilities improve their games. In addition Andrew will also be serving as the head girls/boys golf coach at BCCHS.
